BandLab is a real studio, and a free one. You can record, arrange and mix on a laptop or a phone, bring collaborators into the same project and post the result to a feed. If what you need is a place to make the track, BandLab is a good answer and KollabMe is not trying to replace it. KollabMe is not a studio. It is where you find the producer in your genre, the vocalist, the engineer, the photographer and the room near you, agree the rate or the split on a card in the chat, and both confirm when the work is done.

What BandLab is
BandLab is a music creation platform owned by Caldecott Music Group, which reported passing 100 million registered users in 2024. The free plan includes a 16-track studio with basic effects and instruments, a sampler, drum machine and looper, and weekly allowances from its beat and sample libraries. BandLab Beats is a curated catalog of beats licensed non-exclusively for a 10-year term. Collaboration happens inside projects: you invite other users to a project by username or email, or move it into a Band. Messages from people you are not connected with land in a separate Message Requests inbox. Paid Pro and Max plans add a 32-track studio without ads, AI cleanup and mixing tools, more weekly beats and samples, and distribution and Opportunities, and Max adds a mastering EQ and monthly promotion credits.

Is KollabMe a replacement for BandLab?
No. KollabMe has no studio, no mixing tools and no distribution. Use BandLab, or any software you like, to make the track, and use KollabMe to find the people you make it with and agree the terms.
Is KollabMe free?
KollabMe is free to join. Paid plans are on the roadmap but are not live, so the match deck, the chat and Collab Requests do not sit behind a subscription.
Can I bring my BandLab music to KollabMe?
Yes. Export a mix from BandLab and upload it to your KollabMe profile. Up to five tracks of two minutes each go on your profile, and your card in the deck plays them, so people hear the work before they reach out.
Does KollabMe take a commission?
No. KollabMe never holds or processes the payment. Whatever you and your collaborator agree on the Collab Request card settles between the two of you.
